Bodrum, the ancient name of Halikarnassos, is the home of the Mausoleum, one of the seven wonders of the world. It is home to the castle built in the 15th century by Christian Knights and you might see Mediterranean history and culture all around the city. It is one of the the most famous city of Turkey with amazing sea, nature and culture. Bodrum still houses the Underwater Archeology Museum and hosted various cultural festivals during the year.The population of the Bodrum was recorded as 35.795 with the towns and villages around, the total population reached 136.317 at 2012 population census.

 

 

MİLAS

 

It is the second largest settlement area of ​​Muğla Province. It is built at piedmont of Mount Sodra on the plain with it's own name. According to archaeological researches, the city's founding dates back to the 10th century BC. There is a myth about the name that has taken from wind God, Mylasos from the descendant of Ailos, but it can not go far from the legend.

Milas first made the capital of Karia, then the Menteşe Principality. Milas's ancient name is Mylasos or Mylasa. Milas, where the temple of the National God of Karia, Zeus Karios, was involved as crossroads of the Karials. The city, which is covered with marble structures and monuments on all sides, is rightly called "City of the Baths". It is possible to see the traces of continuous 3.000 year cultural accumulation throughout Milas. It is possible to see  the remains of 27 ancient cities within the boundaries of Milas.
